This was my comment made to Fine, Samantha and Shantay. Our focus was to write a blog comment to a Friend, PBS Student, Class Blog, Manaiakalani Cluster Blog. We also needed to have our spelling, punctuation, and to check if it makes sense. Our Blog Comment has to include positive feedback, information that would be helpful but not into a negative way and to have some sort of connection to the blog post that we commented on. I commented on their video which explains why maths is important in schools. I think this is funny and also very educational.

Story Swap Task: Tim and Juanita
Story Swap Task:
I watched as the abandoned house sits at the bottom of the hill. It felt like it was staring at me. I desperately to the front of the door, wondering if I could go in. I open the door. I heard the door creak. I walked inside, the wood creaking as I walk on it. It made me realise the ghosts were real. I was urging to go outside, but I just had to go in and see for my self. I saw a empty room. It felt like the empty room was waiting for me to go inside.
When I walked in I saw a black shadow following me. I looked around the room, wondering how the shadow came to be. The I carried on to look for things. There were staircases leading up to the second floor. I walked up to get a better look upstairs. I saw as the bedrooms were destroyed, bathrooms that had a strange smell. It smelt like someone died in there. I continued on and I saw a library room. I walked inside and heard a voice, looking around to see if the voice was real. I spotted a shadow again so I said "who are you" and "what do you want". It didn't respond.
Story Swap Task. Story Swap Task is an activity where two people have to be pairs. Mrs Anderson has to show a picture to us and we have to write a story based on that picture. But we have to write each sentence and the pair has to carry on the sentence. We had to do this under 15 minutes. The thing I took for this was realising my mistakes. It is very easy to spot other people mistakes but it is difficult to spot our mistakes. So this activity really helped us realise our mistakes.

Persuasive Writing - Tim
Should New Zealand Change their Flag?
First of all, why waste the money? New Zealand is spending a lot of money towards this flag. 25.7 million dollars! Why waste it on a new flag when our current flag has been up since the early 1900s. We should think about all the people with poverty and remember without food, water and a roof on top of their heads, they can’t survive. Without the nutrition they need in their bodies, these people can become unhealthy which can lead to serious illness.
Secondly, we should think about the soldiers, that took a risk fighting for our country under the Union Jack and the four red stars. They had to sacrifice their lives so we could be free. New Zealand wouldn’t be a free country if the soldiers hadn't fought for us.
Thirdly, what’s wrong with our current flag? It honours the past and has been and will be around for decades. If New Zealand changed their flag, yes it may be remembered but the current flag was very important to people back in the 1900s.
In conclusion, I say no! New Zealand should keep their icons, keep the union jack and to keep the 4 red stars. What do you think? Should New Zealand change their flag?

Current Events #1: Boy Homeless Gives Homeless Man a Blessing - Tim
My current events is about a Young Boy named Josiah Duncan, saw a homeless man, sitting all by him self at a fast Food Restaurant and he asked his mum if he could buy him some food. So he did and the young boy gave the homeless man the food and sang a blessing song which touched everybody's souls and made them cry. I really am proud of him for doing that. He even touched my soul and I was so glad that he did that.
