Blog Comment: Room 5 Blog | Fine, Samantha and Shantay (3km to Tonga) - Tim

This was my comment made to Fine, Samantha and Shantay. Our focus was to write a blog comment to a Friend, PBS Student, Class Blog, Manaiakalani Cluster Blog. We also needed to have our spelling, punctuation, and to check if it makes sense. Our Blog Comment has to include positive feedback, information that would be helpful but not into a negative way and to have some sort of connection to the blog post that we commented on. I commented on their video which explains why maths is important in schools. I think this is funny and also very educational.

T4 Letter: T1 Reply - Tim

Dear Term Four Tim

By the time you read this you will now have already finished school and moving on to college. In Order to achieve this you would have to put a lot of effort into your work, Let’s just say it was worth it. You would have made good progress in your test/assessment. You would also need to solve maths problems and work on your maths multiplication quicker. You had better worked on your maths at home. You could play a multiplication game on the iPad and you could also memorize the 6, 8 and 9 times table. Have you made any progress on maths this year? Have you moved your learning to the level? You would also need to achieve getting a prize giving award/Certificate. To achieve that goal you would have to come to school every day and work hard for that award/certificate to be yours. You would also need to have approximately 100 posts on my blog. To achieve that goal, you would need to finish off work and post it on your blog ASAP.  I hope you make it through another year by achieving your goals you have set during the year. `

Good luck, See you in December
From Term One Tim

LI: To reflect on personal goals set in Term 1

Hi Term One Tim,

WOW! It’s been almost a year and I have to say I am pretty proud of myself for achieving some of my goals set throughout 2015. Final Year, Great Accomplishments. There are more goals to come at the end of 2015 and during 2016. I am still set on achieving my final goal - Prizegiving Award. I have mastered by times table and now know them off by heart. I am pretty sure that I have succeeded to be the best that I can in maths. I have reached my 100 blog post limit and have even made it pass 200. This year has been a great year. I am so proud of myself. 2015 has to be the year I have worked my best on. These memories will always be in my heart. I will never forget the effort I put into my work and the wonderful friends I have made from being a junior to a senior.

Simple Machines - Tim

Since this term is Simple Machines we had to do these follow up tasks or challenges for every Simple Machine except Pulley. I worked with Saruja and we created a presentation based on each individual machine. For Inclined plane we did a 25 word description. Wedge we made a Diagram about it. Screw we made a DLO to show what we learnt from a video that we watched. Lever we made a labeled diagram to show different parts of the lever. Wheel and Axle was to create a conversation on ifaketext.com to explain the reason why Genghis Khan didn't want any Tatar Male taller than a Wagon Wheel.

Science @ Tamaki College - Tim

Science  @ Tamaki College:

After Tech today the Year 7 and 8's went to go do science with Mr Mahotra and Mrs Bunce, A group of groups went with Mrs Bunce and Mrs Anderson and another group of groups went with Mr Mahotra and Mrs Kirkpatrick. My group went with Mr Mahotra and Mrs Kirkpatrick. First we had to do a little introduction about ourselves and we were going straight into Science. Mr Mahotra showed us around what he had around his "lab". There were a lot of interesting things around and I couldn't wait to experiment with it next week. This week was just a introduction about what we are doing next week. Then Mr Mahotra took out a black box with Science googles. I was really excited because I have never wore Science googles. He showed us a presnetation with key words and telling us what it means. This lesson was really cool because we got to know more things before doing experiments.

Kiwi Sport: Run, Jump, Throw - Tim

Run, Jump, Throw

Today at Run, Jump, Throw. We learnt about Long and High Jump, we had to learn 4 skills, to have the right balance in Long and High Jump. We had to learn how to swing our arms in long jump, so we can jump easier. We also, bent our knees, so we can land with stumbling. When we are jumping we have to look up, because if we look down, we will fall down. When landing, land with two feets, to get a steady balance. So Swinging Arms, Bent Knees, Looking up and Landing with two feet, to get the right jump. We also practiced our two feet landing in a spot game. right After the game we had another session about High Jump. When we are jumping, we have to have a slightly bent knee, to jump over the pole without it falling over. Running from an angle, helps jumping over the pole easier. We also learnt a trick called the scissors kick. Scissors Kick is have your leg slightly bent. The scissors have to be quick. The leg you jump over the pole first is the arm that has to be swinged.

Algorithm (Division DLO) - Tim

I did a DLO about Algorithm but with Division. At first when I Found out about this I thought it was going to be a bit tricky, but then when the a video showed me I understood exactly what to do to solve a division question. Here I explain how to solve a division question, using an algorithm.

Kiwi Sport: Tim W6 T3

Today Room 5 did Run, Jump, Throw. We first started off with a warm-up game where we had to be in partners and one had to be the tagger and one had to be the person running away or walking away. We first played tiggy, but we had to speed walk so your partner doesn't get you. Then we did skipping, jogging and running. After that we did running skills, high knees, running on the spot. We also learnt some skills like Cheek to Cheek, running in a Straight line, high knees, don't like at the starter, and many more skills. Then we did relays, we had to high knee jump, over the hurdles. We lined up on the line and laid down on the ground. We had to look at the sky, and when the coach clap her hand we had to get up and run, it is called react. Then we finished off with a little recap.
