My Graph shows the percentages shown on how many people voted for each flag. I am glad that the flag that I chose was chosen the most. I really thought the Blue and Black fern flag was going to be chosen. I have made a pie chart to separately show you the votes. I was suprised that the Koru flag was the least voted one, I honestly thought the Red Peak one was going to be the least since I have heard not people like it.

Choosing A New Flag - Evelyn, Tiare, June and Tim
For one of our tasks we had to do something called 4-3-2-1 where we had to find out information about the five flags and read about it for 4 minutes. After that for 3 minutes we share the information about the flag that we chose with a buddy. 2 minutes we find another person and share the same information to that person. 1 minute we get into a group of 4 and share the information we gathered from the researching. The purpose of these tasks was to chose what flag we wanted since our school had to vote for which flag we wanted. I chose the Silver Fern (Red, White and Blue) I chose that flag because I like how to designer incorporated the heritage and history from New Zealand. I also really like how the stars is the Southern Cross which is where New Zealand is located. The stars also symbolises the islands of New Zealand. The flag I chose is similar to the original New Zealand with the Same Colours

New Zealand doesn’t need a new flag, our current flag is fine, and I am here to state to you why our nation doesn't need a new flag.
Why does New Zealand even need a new flag?
Everyone needs to think about the people who sacrificed their life for us to have this freedom. They fought for this nation, they fought under the 4 stars and the Union Jack. All the risks that the soldiers took, all the hard work that put into making this Country, a better place. Won’t this break you heart to think, that these soldiers, did a huge favour for us, while the New Zealand flag was standing tall. The flag has a lot of meaning and tradition behind it. It has been around for decades, representing New Zealand at Sports Events.
Is It Necessary. A lot of money is going towards a new flag for our nation. 25.7 million dollars. Think about how much this could do, for all the people living in poverty. The money can fix what has been damaged to Christchurch. It could help rebuild the structures that has been destroyed. This is a lot of money, and can help save a lot of people.
According to New Zealand Herald, 25% of people want to change the flag, and 70% of people are against changing the flag.
We are the nation’s people, we should have the right to make a decision about the New Zealand flag.
As the nation’s people, we should make a vote, to determine if New Zealand should change their flag. Making a vote will make the government re-think what they are doing to the flag.
Once again, New Zealand shouldn’t change the flag. Sacrificing, Defending, Fighting is going to be all put to waste. The government needs to think about what they are doing to the New Zealand flag. Do you think we should change the flag?
