Creative Collaboration: Why is it important to learn maths in schools - Evelyn, Tiare, Saruja and Tim

Here is Saruja, Tim, Evelyn and my video. It tells you about maths being important at school. I think maths is very important at school because when we all get older we need to know our maths. In the video it tells you the reasons we think why maths is important in schools. 

Simple Machines - Tim

Since this term is Simple Machines we had to do these follow up tasks or challenges for every Simple Machine except Pulley. I worked with Saruja and we created a presentation based on each individual machine. For Inclined plane we did a 25 word description. Wedge we made a Diagram about it. Screw we made a DLO to show what we learnt from a video that we watched. Lever we made a labeled diagram to show different parts of the lever. Wheel and Axle was to create a conversation on ifaketext.com to explain the reason why Genghis Khan didn't want any Tatar Male taller than a Wagon Wheel.  

Place Value Millionaire - Tim

I played a game called Place Value Millionaire. It is a game where you have to answer Place Value questions in which you go up the money chain and win 1 Million dollars in the game. It was very tricky when I got up to the Decimals but I got them all right. I never thought I would get them right but I did. Saruja helped me through the questions and was very supportive 

This is the certificate that I was rewarded with. I happy I got 10/10 

Lever: Labelled Diagram (Follow Up Challenge) - Saruja and Tim

For the lever follow up challenge we had to create a labelled diagram, about the lever we also added a short description about the lever

The Inclined Plane: 25 Words (Follow Up Challenge) - Saruja and Tim

For our Simple Machines Task, for Inclined Plane our follow up challenge was to write a description of an Inclined Plane with only 25 words, this was a struggle to try and have a description of an inclined plane with only 25 words. 

CARE Awards: Richie McCaw (Respected Leader) - Tim

This is Saruja, Tiare and I google drawing about Richie McCaw (Respected Leader). We talk about how he became a respected leader and when he was born. We did a ton of research on Richie McCaw. We all worked together and did a great job.

CARE Awards: Jim Carrey - Tim

Today Saruja and I, did a presentation about Jim Carrey being homeless. To believe that he is a successful comedic and actor, and to think when he was younger he was living in poverty. This was one of our CARE Awards tasks, to Research someone who has a positive attitude despite difficulties they have faced. 

CARE Awards: Respected Leader - Tim

One of our C.A.R.E Award task was to do a Presentation on a respected Leader. Me, Tiare, Saruja and Afu decided to do Tom Latham because we think he is a respected leader, and is a great role model. 

Blog Comment: Tiare and Saruja - Current Events

This is my comment to Tiare. I commented on her Current Events with saruja. In the comment I talk about how they read very cleary and could able to recall the questions on the Current Events. 

Popplet: Should NZ Change their Flag - Tim

Yesterday Saruja and I created a popplet for if NZ should change their flag. So I did The No Reasons and Saruja did the yes reasons. and then after We were done doing that we went on to do NZ flags. Me and Saruja also put at the top the Learning Intention, OREO, which means Opinion, Reasons, Explanation, Opinion (Again). The last thing we did was use facts and statistics. We were shocked at the percentages. 

Maori Contingent Poster - Tiare, Tim and Saruja

Today Saruja,Tiare and I made a poster for men to join the Maori Contingent. In the poster it says, At the top it says that to come and fight for our country. Then below it says that all men are allowed to participate in the war. 

Timeline about Maori Battalion - Saruja, Tiare and Tim

Today Today Tiare, Tim and I, did a timeline on Maori Battalion. We went from 5th August, 1914 to 25 April 1915. We talked about being sended to Egypt, and when Britain declares war against Germany thats when it all started.

Letter To The Editor (Copy 2) - Saruja, Tiare and Tim

Dear Editor of Maori Battalion.         23/08/1915                     

                                                                                                              

Today we would like to ask you some question about WW1.

I hope you know what we are going to say in this letter.

We red your story and it says that brown people are not allowed to fight in WW1. We thought because they are not good  at fighting or they won’t focus, so our  question is

Why wouldn’t you let the brown people fight in WW1?

Is there a reason why white people won’t let brown people take part in the war?

Why don’t you want all kinds of people participating in war?

We think it is not fair for native people like brown people to be digging out trenches while other soldiers fight for their country. We think all people should have the right to fight for their country.

Waikato people and the Taranaki people had the right to disagree of taking part in the war.

We think that because the government took away their land, so we think it is fair to disagree.

We feel like  brown people altogether that should’ve been involved in the war. We hope you agree with our opinions

Letter to the Editor of Maori Battalion - Saruja, Tiare and Tim

Today Saruja, Tiare and I, did a letter to the editor. We have stated our opinions and we hopefully didn't do it in a negative way, we just felt like stating our opinions and why brown people had to dig our trenches instead of fighting for their country or our country. Brown people are also known as native people.
