Evaluating the classroom environment

It is important for you to be critical thinkers and learners. This week’s task in topic requires you to brainstorm What works and doesn’t work in our classroom?
Think about space, tables, chairs, specific learning areas, technology, equipment, etc.

What works
What doesn’t work
What would you change / why
*Desks
* Windows
* Teachers
* Technology
* Doors
* Data Projector
* Computers
* Chairs
* Lights
* Speaker
* Heater
* Curtains
* Netbooks & Chromebooks
* Big Whiteboards

* Maths Trolley
* Netbook Cupboard
* Bookshelf
* Smelly Bin/Bin Area
*Art Area
* The Wall Space
* Classroom Size
* Mat Colour
* Charger Plugs
* Art Towels
* Paint Brushes
* Soap/Hand Sanitizer

* Netbook Cupboard - Not Enough Space For The Netbooks
* Bookshelf - Not Much Space For The Books
* Smelly Bin/Bin Area - It is smelly and it is not closed by the lid every time.
*Art Area - The bench is too small to do art.
* The Wall Space - The wall is too small for the posters, pictures, work and art works.
* Classroom Size - Its not enough space for the students to walk through because it is too tight.
* Mat Colour - The mat colour is not that interesting for the students.
* Charger Plugs - The chargers are too crowded. Also it is hard for the students to get the charger out when their netbooks have low battery
* Art Towels - I don’t know why we have to have art towels because we don’t even use them.
* Paint Brushes - Their too squished in the circle container and it is hard to put in
* Teachers Desk Space - The teachers need space for them to walk through.

My speech about "Should we have a cafeteria?" By Tim

Should we have a cafeteria? By Tim
You're sitting in class and your stomach is starting to rumble. Finally, the bell rings and it's time for lunch woo-hoo! After all that time in class, you deserve a chance to head to the cafeteria and sit down, relax, and enjoy the company of your friends over a lunchtime meal.
But wait a minute what exactly are you eating?More than at other meals, kids have a lot of control over what they eat for lunch at school. A kid can choose to eat the green beans or throw them out. A kid also can choose to eat an apple instead of an ice cream sandwich.
When choosing what to eat for lunch, making a healthy choice is really important. Here's why: Eating a variety of healthy foods gives you energy to do stuff, helps you grow the way you should, and can even keep you from getting sick.
Think of your school lunch as the fuel you put in your tank. If you choose the wrong kind of fuel, you might run out of energy before the day is over.
So what is the right kind of fuel? What does a healthy lunch look like? Unlike that killer question on your math test, there are many right answers to these questions.
Most kids have the choice of packing lunch or buying one at school. The good news is that a kid can get a healthy lunch by doing either one. But it's not a slam-dunk. Chances are, some meals and foods served in the school cafeteria are healthier than others.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't buy your lunch, it just means you might want to give the cafeteria menu a closer look. Read the cafeteria menu the night before. Knowing what's for lunch beforehand will let you know if you want to eat it! Bring home a copy of the menu or figure out how to find it on the school website.
A packed lunch isn't automatically healthier than one you buy at school. If you pack chocolate cake and potato chips, that's not a nutritious meal! But a packed lunch, if you do it right, does have a clear advantage. When you pack your lunch, you can be sure it includes your favorite healthy foods stuff you know you like. It's not a one-size-fits-all lunch. It's a lunch just for you. If your favorite sandwich is peanut butter and banana, just make it and pack it then you can eat it for lunch. Or maybe you love olives. Go ahead and pack them!
If you want to pack your lunch, you'll need some help from your parents. Talk to them about what you like to eat in your lunch so they can stock up on those foods. Parents might offer to pack your lunch for you. This is nice of them, but you may want to watch how they do it and ask if you can start making your lunches yourself. It's a way to show that you're growing up.

My Video On My Speech On "Should Schools Have A Cafeteria": By Tim

Tim speech from Joy Paton on Vimeo.

This is my speech video on " Should Schools Have A Cafeteria". I think I need to work on is my eye contact and to have expression. I wanted to go to the finals but I didn't because I didn't use any expression and I didn't give I contact. I thought my speech was very good. I hope next year when there is a speech competition I would do so much better. I also want to chose another topic.

10. Homework helps students to get answers right in tests and sometimes in difficult situations.
1. I think they shouldn’t do their homeworks because most students don’t do their homeworks.

2. Sometimes students don’t do their homework because they can’t be bothered to do their homework, but if they do it they can get treats from the teachers.

My Argument On Should We Wear A School Uniform: By Tim

Should we wear a uniform at Panmure Bridge School? I think we should wear a uniform at Panmure Bridge School.

I think uniforms are excellent because they don’t rip and tear off. They are really suitable to wear. The uniforms come in different sizes. School uniforms are comfortable to wear because uniforms are made using  hard wearing materials.

Uniforms are good for sport events and special events. The uniforms represent your school. When you wear your uniform people can easily tell what school you go to. When there is danger or an accident people can easily recognize you because of your uniform. If you didn’t  wear your uniform then that will make the situation even harder.

Your uniform is not open for teasing because everybody is wearing the same thing, if you had mufti clothes on then you can get bullied by your appearance.

I think it is important to wear your uniform is because the materials they are really heavy and really good. When you wear your uniform you look smart in it. Uniforms are also good for sports events and special events like Prize giving, Assembly etc. I think you should not get your uniform dirty or wet because it can waste your parents money. If there is a danger or an accident and you wore your uniform then they can easily recognize you.

These are the main reasons why we should wear a school uniform.
