Working With a Critical Friend - Mere and Tim

Working With A Critical Friend:

Rm5 and Rm6 are doing a collaborative Critical Friend. I worked with Mere and we had to check each others Writing Samples. It was my writing Sample that was checked by Mere. We used this rubric which Rm5 and Rm6 share. We check each rubric Punctuation, Vocab, Organisation, Sentence Structure, Structure and Language and Ideas. Mere had to comment on my writing sample for each Rubric, What I did well and What I needed to work on. Working with a critical friend helps because Mere can spot my mistakes and tell what I need to work on next time. The rubric also helps me because I can move back and forth for what mistakes I've done that needs to be fixed. Mere has helped me a lot to find my mistakes and tell what I need to improve to work at a higher standard.

Simple Machines - Tim

Since this term is Simple Machines we had to do these follow up tasks or challenges for every Simple Machine except Pulley. I worked with Saruja and we created a presentation based on each individual machine. For Inclined plane we did a 25 word description. Wedge we made a Diagram about it. Screw we made a DLO to show what we learnt from a video that we watched. Lever we made a labeled diagram to show different parts of the lever. Wheel and Axle was to create a conversation on ifaketext.com to explain the reason why Genghis Khan didn't want any Tatar Male taller than a Wagon Wheel.

Science @ Tamaki College - Tim

Science  @ Tamaki College:

After Tech today the Year 7 and 8's went to go do science with Mr Mahotra and Mrs Bunce, A group of groups went with Mrs Bunce and Mrs Anderson and another group of groups went with Mr Mahotra and Mrs Kirkpatrick. My group went with Mr Mahotra and Mrs Kirkpatrick. First we had to do a little introduction about ourselves and we were going straight into Science. Mr Mahotra showed us around what he had around his "lab". There were a lot of interesting things around and I couldn't wait to experiment with it next week. This week was just a introduction about what we are doing next week. Then Mr Mahotra took out a black box with Science googles. I was really excited because I have never wore Science googles. He showed us a presnetation with key words and telling us what it means. This lesson was really cool because we got to know more things before doing experiments.

Place Value Millionaire - Tim

I played a game called Place Value Millionaire. It is a game where you have to answer Place Value questions in which you go up the money chain and win 1 Million dollars in the game. It was very tricky when I got up to the Decimals but I got them all right. I never thought I would get them right but I did. Saruja helped me through the questions and was very supportive 
This is the certificate that I was rewarded with. I happy I got 10/10 

Lever: Labelled Diagram (Follow Up Challenge) - Saruja and Tim


For the lever follow up challenge we had to create a labelled diagram, about the lever we also added a short description about the lever

The Inclined Plane: 25 Words (Follow Up Challenge) - Saruja and Tim

For our Simple Machines Task, for Inclined Plane our follow up challenge was to write a description of an Inclined Plane with only 25 words, this was a struggle to try and have a description of an inclined plane with only 25 words.

Rugby World Cup: Twickenham - Saruja and Tim

As the All Blacks won the Rugby World Cup Saruja and I decided to create a DLO Presentation about Twickenham and the Stadium. We added information about Twickenham Town and the Stadium. We also added some videos to help make the information more understanding
