My Report on Valerie Adams
Valerie Kasanita Adams is a famous shot putter. She is in the Olympics for  shot putting. Valerie has broke many world records to make New Zealand proud. Valerie is a sports star.

                                                                                      
Valerie was born on 6th October 1984 in Rotorua, New Zealand. Valerie’s mothers name is Lilika Ngauamo and her father’s name is Sydney Adams. Valerie has several older brothers which are all over 7 feet tall. Valerie’s youngest brother plays basketball in the America.
Valerie mother died when she was 15 years old. Her mother had found about her cancer and died the following year in 1998.  Valerie mom  inspired her alot. When Valerie won shot putting she looked up to the sky and it reminded her about her mom. She was very special to Valerie.


Valerie was a shy and sporty girl. At school Valerie enjoyed playing basketball like her younger brother. Valerie went to the school of Otara Primary school. Valerie Adams was the tallest girl in her class.
                                          
                                     
Valerie First coach was Kristen Hellier. She was a famous Javelin thrower. They met in 1998 and were together for 11 years. Kristen Hellier helped Valerie through her grief after her mum died.  Valerie Second  coach was Didier Poppe. In 2010 Jean Pierre Egger her third coach and she has done  very well under him.


She broke the record for shot put  in bare feet in the Junior championships. Valerie threw the shot put at 19.66m in the Melbourne games. At the Beijing Games she threw shot put at 20.56m. These achievements were world records. Valerie had her first gold medal when she won the world youth championships in Hungary in 2001. Valerie is a champion and a star. Valerie has won 12 gold and 5 silver  1 bronze and still holds many gold medals.

                         
Valerie broke world record. She is a very good shot putter. I hope she wins another gold medal and make New Zealand proud and we believe her and I wish her good luck.
